Collagraph is a collage printmaking technique, where the image is composed from a variety of textured materials glued to substrate made of cardboard or metal. This matrix (plate) is then inked intaglio style and printed through an etching press using thick dampened paper under a great deal of pressure.
An accessible way of making prints using everyday materials such as leaves, card, wallpaper, string, cut paper, textured gel mediums, etc. Collagraphs can produce wonderfully textured and sophisticated images. Come learn the only printmaking method that was created specifically for fine art.
